It's KIND OF Blue, released 50 years ago this August 17. I'm not a "jazz buff" but a casual jazz lover, and the Miles Davis album was certainly one of my gateway drugs to the NY-driven world of seriously soulful jazz. A thing of beauty, released in a highly-creative year which Marc Myers from Jazzwax.com describes as the beginning of modern music marketing too.
